3K Calibrations provides custom Detroit Diesel ECM tuning for DD5, DD8, DD13, DD15 and DD16 engines throughout Canada and the USA. We support EPA10, GHG14, GHG17 and GHG21 applications, with each calibration built around the exact engine, truck, software level and operating requirements.
Remote Detroit Diesel Tuning
Most supported Detroit applications can be tuned remotely using a Windows laptop, reliable high-speed internet and the correct communication equipment.
Remote programming depends on the specific truck and module configuration. The truck must allow us to read and program the required modules, and we must have the exact matching factory calibration available before we make any changes.
We do not mix and match random stock files from other trucks. If the correct original software cannot be identified and matched properly, we will not blindly flash a file into the truck.
Exact Calibration Matching Matters
Detroit programming is very software-specific. Two trucks with the same engine model can still have different calibration levels, emissions configurations, transmission setups and vehicle programming.
Before tuning, we verify the engine, module information and existing software so the calibration we work from matches the truck correctly. This avoids the problems that can come from flashing unrelated or incorrectly matched files.

We support Detroit Diesel applications across multiple generations, including EPA10, GHG14, GHG17 and GHG21 platforms.
Support depends on the exact engine, MCM, ACM and software configuration, so we confirm everything before programming begins.
Later-Model Detroit Applications
Later-model Detroit engines can use the newer GATS 2.0 aftertreatment system and ACM3 architecture. These trucks require a different approach than earlier Detroit configurations.
Depending on the exact DD13, DD15 or DD16 setup, additional hardware or a different programming procedure may be required. We verify the module configuration before starting so you know exactly what is needed.

We support a wide range of Detroit Diesel applications including DD5, DD8, DD13, DD15 and DD16 engines.
Because Detroit used several different module and software configurations across these engines and model years, support is confirmed using the truck information, engine serial number and module details rather than simply going by model year.

Detroit Diesel Remote ECM Tuning
Remote Tuning: Most supported DD5, DD8, DD13, DD15 and DD16 applications can be tuned remotely throughout Canada and the USA.
Exact File Matching: Before programming, we verify the engine, MCM software, ACM software and module information. We program both the MCM and ACM using the correct matching factory calibrations for that exact truck — no mix-and-match stock files from unrelated applications.
Programming Requirements: Remote tuning does not require us to read the stock file from the truck because we already have the factory calibrations needed for supported Detroit applications. In rare cases, a truck will not allow programming through the diagnostic data port and repeated flash attempts will fail. If that happens, it is not a problem — the modules can be shipped to us and programmed directly on the bench.
Later-Model Applications: Some GHG21 and newer Detroit configurations use the newer GATS 2.0 / ACM3 architecture and may require a different programming procedure or additional hardware. If your truck is equipped with the smaller-style ACM, contact us first so we can confirm the correct programming method and go over the available options.
Shipping Details: If your modules need to be sent in, no worries — we handle the shipping labels and all required customs paperwork for you. For customers in the USA, we offer $200 USD overnight shipping both ways. You simply box up the modules, attach the paperwork we provide, and ship them out. We handle the rest and send everything back overnight once programming is complete.

How Isuzu On-Road Programming Works
1. Confirm the Truck
Send us the year, VIN and engine information so we can confirm support and the correct programming method.
2. A Windows Laptop & NEXIQ Are Always Required
No matter which programming option you choose, the truck must have access to a Windows laptop and a NEXIQ USB Link 2 or USB Link 3.
3. Ship the ECM/ACM to Us
If the ECM and ACM are being sent to us for bench programming, you still need the Windows laptop and NEXIQ at the truck for the programming and setup process.
4. Full Remote Kit — $299 USD
Our full remote kit includes our Windows laptop, NEXIQ USB Link 2 or 3, and the harnesses required to connect directly to the ECM and ACM. Our technician connects remotely and handles the programming from start to finish.
The $299 USD rental includes shipping both ways, so there is no separate $200 module shipping charge. In most cases, full remote programming is only about $99 more than shipping the modules in.
5. Please Return the Kit Promptly
Our remote kits are shared equipment and are often needed by other customers. Once you receive the kit, we ask that the truck is ready and that we connect within 1 business day whenever possible.
After programming is complete, please ship the kit back the same day or within 1 additional business day at the latest.
We include the prepaid return shipping labels, so returning it is simple — schedule a UPS pickup or drop the package off at any UPS location.
